Resumo
Specialized in Automotive Engineering by FEI and in several fields of administrative leadeship, product design & development and also project management.
His successfull 41years career in Ford Motor Company was dedicated to many and diverse activities within product development, holding positions and functions in Brazil and overseas in systems design, development, teams management and implementation of new concepts and products.
Among his main achievements, it is worth to highlight the first in Brazil air brake system with nylon brake tubes in 1978 and the also first computer integrated program for suspension and steering geometry calculation for medium and heavy comercial trucks in 1984.
Mid 90’s, actively worked in the implementation of the concepts of vehicle and manufacturing modularization and “ co-design”, the implementation of the Advanced Engineering within Product Development for Autolatina Trucks , implementation of the PD/Manufacturing Integrated Engineering – PVT , Specialty Vehicles Engineering and Cost Reduction Activities on Trucks Division, and development of RHD & Crew Cab Super Duty pick-ups.
More recently, led the re-organization and implementation of the FoMoCo Advanced Engineering for South America, , leading local projects and co-leading global projects, as well as the integration of the new concepts of “Basic Design” within the overseas design centers.
In the field of alternative materials, led a team of researchers in the study and development of the application of natural fibers as reinforcement for injected and molded plastic parts, replacing traditional mineral fillers with very succesfull results.
Recognized as a true leader within the automotive community, helped the reorganization and strenghen of product development teams in Brazil and South America.
For two years, represented the voice of the automotive industry in the CITEC – Technology and Innovation Committee – led by FIEB – Bahia Industries Federation. This group of top industry representatives was created to analyze and recommend new and innovative investments in the NE region, supported by the Bahia State Government.
